Picture Frame

This is one of my favorite projects that I have created lately.  It is just an inexspensive picture frame that I have painted and covered with designer paper and cardstock. (I apologize for the picture quality. The colors aren't quite right.)
To add more interest and texture to the card stock I ran the pieces through my bigshot in an embossing folder berfore attaching to the frame.

You can really see the embossing on the flower below.

I also squeezed up the sides of the petals on each flower to give them more dimension.

Below you can really see the dimension.

The picture in the frame was taken last year while we were in Lousiana.  We were about to me Shelby Stanga from Ax Men.  Let me tell you that man is funny crazy.  We couldn't stop laughing.  If you watch Ax Men and know who I am talking about, Shelby is not faking anything.  He is that crazy.  He is also super nice.  We had a really great visit and took all kinds of pictures with him.

Travel Log

Look!!  I am updating!! Can you believe it!?
I titled this post Travel Log because that is the stamp set I used to create this page.  This is the page that the class I teach made this week.  I now need to make a second page to go with it that has a title on it.  I didn't leave any room for a title on this page. Oh, well.
The hardest part of creating this page was stamping the map across the top.  Once I got that (it took me three tries) the rest was pretty easy.
I cased a lot of this page from someone else and I need to go back and look who it was and post her name here.  I always like to give credit where credit is do.

Everything I used to create this project was from stampin' up!

Blog Hop

Welcome to the Countrfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop!  You should be coming to me from Ashley's blog.  No matter how you arrived here, if you would like to start at the beginning of the hop, just pop on over to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog, where it all begins.
Our challenge for this hop was to go to the blog of our favorite manufacturer and find something that inspires us and CASE (copy and share everything) it.  I went to the blog of Echo Park, my current favorite, and found this delightful mini album by Carole Maurin.

Below is my version of mini album, starting with the cover. While the ribbon used is retired Stampin' Up!,
all the papers in this project come from a totally boy set of papers by K & Company.

I even cut out pieces of some of the pages to create page accents.

I hope you enjoyed my project, and won't you please continue on to the next stop in the blog hop to Lisa's blog.

Winner

This is a simple layout I created using papers in my kit that I created for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge.
I am still scrapping pictures from several years ago.  The little boy in the picture is now 15 years old. I obviously don't scrap chronologically.

Cool Guys

Finally, I have had time to update my blog.  I have either been busy or not feeling well, and therefore I have neglected my blog for the last several days.
Today, however I was able to sit down a create a page while at a friend's house.  We always like to do crafty things when we get together.
To make this page I used the sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.  Their sketch was a two page sketch, but I only used the right side of the sketch.  I usually only do one page lay-outs.
Also, everything except the journaling strips came out of my kit that I made for the Counterfeit Kits Challenge.

This is a picture of my sons when they were 3 and 6.  Now they are 12 and 15.  I still take their pictures, but there is nothing  like those sweet pictures when they were little.  I miss those days, but at the same time I am enjoying our time now.  I have been blessed with really good, well-behaved, intelligent children, and I cherish them every day.

Raffia Again

Here is a scrapbook page that I made earlier this week and am just now getting posted.  I haven't been feeling well this week so I am a little behind.
I showed you my raffia flowers the other day so I thought now I would show you a project using one.
I got the sketch for this page from The Scrappiest.  It is last Monday's sketch.
These pictures are of my great-niece taken last year.  I am scrapping them for my niece's in-laws who live out of state.

What do you get.....

What do you get when you mix a capful of rubbing alcohol, 2 drops of melon mambo classic reinker, a drop or so of frost white shimmer paint, and raffia?

You get shimmery hot pink flowers that don't look near as good in the picture as they do in real life. In real life they are bright and shimmery and deliciously pink. How is that for a description?!
What will I do with these flowers you say. Well I can put them on cards, a scrapbook page or a 3D item. The options are endless. So come back tomorrow or the next day and I'll show you what you can do with these flowers.

Oh, and if you want to know how to make some of these for yourself go here to watch a video by SaCrafter. She has an excellent tutorial

Cool Dude

The layout below shows my now 12 year old son when he was around 1 1/2 to 2 years of age.   Even at that young age he was already making us laugh.  Not only does he have on sunglasses, but he has them on upside down!
I used to challenges to complete this layout.  The first challenge was from How Much Is Too Much.  You had to use items in threes.  Like the three pattern papers and the three circles. Oh, and the picture had to be a humorous one.
The sketch for this layout came from Creative Scrappers, sketch 152.  They have some really great sketches you should try out.
Also, to create this kit I used the supplies in my kit for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog.  Each month on the 5th you are given a kit as an example. You copy this kit to create your own from you own stash.  This month the kit to counterfeit is A Little Birdie Told Me by Front Porch Kits.
I created my kit this month, but I have been a little slow about scrapping with it.  So be watching for several projects in the next few days made from my kit.

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog!!  I love scrapbooking and thought this would be the perfect place to share my creations.
Below is a scrapbook page that I made recently of my 12 year old son.  Well, he is 12 right now.  In the pictures, he looks to be around 2 years of age.  Obviously, I don't scrap chronologically.  When he was two I was teaching 1st grade and had no time or energy left over for scrapbooking.  Now that I no longer teach I am making up for lost scrapbooking time.

All supplies used are Stampin' Up!
